The Armour Of GOD
In the letter to the Ephesians, the Bible describes a certain day as “the evil day.” This day will come at some point or another in our lives and we must be prepared with the armour of the God of Abraham.
When you come face to face with the evil day, you may not even recognize it immediately… But, when all hell explodes in front of you, you will realize that it has arrived.
Heed The Warning
Therefore, take all the armor of God, so that you can resist in the evil day and, having done everything, stand firm.
So stand firm, having girded your loins with the truth, and put on the breastplate of justice;
And feet put on the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Above all, taking the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish all the fiery darts of the evil one.
Take also the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;
Ephesians 6: 13-17
Verse 13 was translated much better in this translation:
So, take every piece of war equipment that God provides; so that when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist; and when the battle is won, you will still be standing.
Ephesians 6:13
This “evil day” is not the typical struggle of your worldly life. This is not a bad day or a common attack. This is truly much worse.
The Evil Day
The evil day is a day marked by problems and trials, and although that day only comes to a few people, everyone alive during, and going through, the tribulation will experience it.
This is the day when your life is threatened, your health is compromised, and your finances are coming to an end. On this evil day, a real spiritual war from hell is unleashed and comes towards you to destroy you and everything you love. On this day you must have the armour of GOD or else.
I am telling you about this reality first so that you do not go blind, thinking that life is a playground. This life of discussing politics, pandemic issues, church gossip, work problems, and ways to have fun is not your life. In fact, we are living on a battlefield and you are a soldier of the Almighty God. You must be prepared to use your powers of life and death. You must understand that when your spoken words is the word of God, you are invincible. Not because of your power – but because of the awesome power of God’s Word.
Prepare To Win
Second, if you know what’s coming, you can prepare yourself, which is why the Bible says to get on you the armor of God so that you can resist in the evil day.
We have to be ready, know what’s coming, have a defined strategy and, above all, we have to trust everything the Lord our God has told us and all his instructions.
King David said:
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we praise the name of Adonai our God.
They will crumple and fall,
but we will arise and stand erect.Psalm 20:7
As children of God we must place our trust in YESHUA every day. But, especially on the evil day.
Some will run for protection, others will trust science, doctors, politicians, but when you find yourself in a place where your well-being is attacked, your health is compromised and the doctors cannot do anything for you; A place where your future is being attacked completely, your financial stability is under attack and your family is being attacked. There, my beloved, you will quickly realize that only the ability to summon a higher power can save you.
The Moment
Suddenly, at that moment, what is written in the Bible will have more importance than all of the distractions of this world. At this point, many will discover the importance of the armour of GOD. What it is and what is there for. For many, it will be too late.
At that moment, you will have to KNOW the words of the God of Abraham in order to remain in the faith, and declare his promises. That day will reveal whether God is really in you, whether His word is really in your heart, and what the substance of your conviction really is.
What is behind your faith will be before you.
A Confident Soldier
In the evil day, be confident that the great and powerful YEHOVA will destroy darkness forever.
Some ask, “why do I go through tribulations?” Simply, if you are asking, you are asleep and have not yet realized that you are a soldier. You are not a spectator. You are a soldier. As such, you must dress like a soldier and practice fighting.
The devil has certain permissions from God to attack us because a soldier has to practice. Soldiers who do not practice fighting, do not know how to fight. Soldiers who don’t know how to fight, are useless.
The Battle
Yeshua himself told us:
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
When you face the evil day, you are not without God’s help. In fact, He is the One giving you the coverage and protection you need. He is rooting for you and giving you the ability to win.
He filled you with HIS Holy Spirit, who is able to overcome all the forces of darkness. You don’t have to fear, but you have to be prepared.
When You Face The Evil Day
Don’t be afraid of the enemy’s size. Remember above all that Yeshua HaMashiach has already won the battle against sin and death when he died on the cross and rose again 2,000 years ago. Satan, has no power over you, the devil does not have you. You are a son or daughter of God, so believe in Him.
Instead, put on Lord Yeshua – the Messiah; and don’t waste your time thinking about how to supply the sinful desires of your old nature.
Romans 13:14
Put simply, stay focused on Lord Yeshua and not on your flesh. Don’t think for a moment that the battle of evil versus good is an even battle where both sides have equal or balanced power. That’s not so. The LORD’s power is the power of the CREATOR of all things. Evil’s power is the power to confuse and lie.
Conclusion
Just as described on Ephesians 6, to have the armour of GOD you need: The belt of truth, the breastplate of justice, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit. But, if you have trouble remembering all these individual pieces, I insist that you remember to put-on YESHUA.
Yeshua is the truth
Yeshua is justice
Yeshua is peace
Yeshua is salvation
Yeshua is the word of the GOD of Abraham
Then, when you put-on Yeshua, you are covering yourself from the top of your head to the soles of your feet in the full armor of GOD – Yeshua HaMashiach, to whom we give all Glory.
