How to Bless God for your food.

How Yeshua Blessed FoodHow to Bless Adonai for your food.

Yeshua loved to teach and utilize every moment to promote understanding of His true purpose. In many occasions the sharing of a meal became an opportunity to experience Adonai’s nearness. When Yeshua broke bread, He blessed the Lord with the original blessing still recited today by many Jews.

בָּרוּךְ אַתָּה יְיָ, אֱלהֵינוּ מֶלֶךְ הָעוֹלָם הַמּוֹצִיא לֶחֶם מִן הָאָרֶץ

Barukh Ata Adonai Eloheynu Melekh HaOlam HaMotzi Lekhem Min HaAretz.

“Blessed are You, Lord, King of the Universe who brings forth bread from the earth.”

In Portuguese
“Abençoado és, Senhor, rei do universo, que produz o pão da terra.”

The Meaning

The word “blessed” in Hebrew is barakh (ברך), from the root BRK, meaning “knee”. When reciting this blessing, you are spiritually kneeling before Adonai, declaring your total dependence on Him as the only source of life.
